FAQ
When it comes to maintaining a commercial kitchen, keeping your ice machine clean is crucial for ensuring the safety and quality of your food and beverages. But cleaning an ice machine can be a daunting task, especially for those who are not familiar with the process. In this article, we will provide you with a brief explanation of our process for cleaning.
Step 1: Initiate a clean cycle
Begin the cleaning cycle according to the manufactures recommendations: add the proper chemicals, ensure proper water flow, and remove excessive buildup pre cleaning.
Step 2: Remove the ice
We remove all the ice from the machine to access the bin for cleaning, allows the cleaning supplies to properly engage the necessary surfaces, and prevents customers from receiving contaminated ice.
Step 3: Clean the interior
While the machine is washing and descaling the evaporator we clean the interior surfaces that are not reached by the cleaning cycle. This includes the bin, cabinet interior, as well as hidden areas that can accumulate mold or debris.
Step 4: Clean the exterior
We clean the exterior of the unit to leave the machine appealing, protected, and restored to it proper appearance.
Step 5: Rinse and sanitize
After the wash cycle is complete: all parts have been removed, soaked, scrubbed, and re-installed, then it is time to sanitize the distribution system, cabinet interior, as well as the bin. We use bacterial inhibitor designed for the machines conditions.
Step 6: Restart the machine
After sanitation it is time for operation. We always remove the first batch of ice to ensure clean, clear, and satisfying ice for your customers.
Step 7: Check filter and Replace if needed
Check the filter date, or flow rate compared to the designed flow rate. Filters are vital the machines cleanliness, operation, and lifespan. Filters can be ordered on first visit unless information is provided before hand.
Regular cleaning of your ice machine is essential for maintaining a safe and healthy environment in your commercial kitchen. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your ice machine is clean and functioning properly, providing your customers with high-quality and safe food and beverages.
